New beta build is out, grab it from the Listening Post product page!
New & Exciting
- MusicBrainz enrichment — Recognized tracks are now automatically enriched with MusicBrainz metadata (recording IDs, artist IDs). This runs quietly in the background and lays the groundwork for richer metadata across the app.
- Redesigned Channels settings — The Channels tab now sports a sidebar + detail layout. You can add multiple instances of compatible channel types (like custom Rocksky instances or ListenBrainz-compatible scrobblers), drag to reorder channels, and manage everything from a single, cleaner UI.
- Rocksky scrobbling — Two new channels for Rocksky, a music tracking platform built on the AT Protocol (Bluesky). There’s one channel for the official Rocksky.app service plus the “Custom Rocksky instance” channel which lets you connect to self-hosted Rocksky servers with a configurable API URL. Both support scrobbling, Now Playing, and track actions (open link, copy link).
No Longer Broken
- The main window no longer grows to absurd heights when hints are enabled.
- Forward slashes in track metadata are no longer escaped in JSONL exports.
- Medium widget cover art corner radii now render correctly on macOS 15.6.
- ListenBrainz falls back to a search query when a track has no recording MBID, so more tracks get properly linked.
Changes
- Settings get their own window — Settings, Licensing, and About have moved out of the main window into a proper macOS Settings window (
⌘,). The main window is now dedicated to your channels. - Channel publishing is now parallelized — scrobbles to multiple services fire simultaneously instead of one at a time.
- Lots of changes under the hood, as expected for a proper beta.
