Feature request: text template + Bandcamp links for posting to Mastodon

Trying out posting to Mastodon for the first time. Posted my first one, then as a test, went to create a second one. I see that it saves my previous changes as the default for future posts. Excellent!

However, when I’m making #NowPlaying posts, I like to add some brief commentary and a Bandcamp link (when available) — all items that obviously need to be entered manually.

It would be nice if new #NowPlaying posts worked off of a template rather than duplicating the most recent post, that way my custom text won’t carry over from the previous post.

Or perhaps there could just be a few “Custom Text” placeholders in the Post to Mastodon pop-up window, with corresponding fields that could be filled in?

Also — and this is possibly a long shot — would it be possible to use the trackID from one of the other services to locate the track on Bandcamp and grab its URL, putting that into a Bandcamp URL placeholder? I’m wondering if Harmony could assist with cross-referencing that URL.

Template: noted. You’re currently looking at version 3 of how the templating works, and I’m still not entirely happy with it. For example, I think it’d be nice to specify a URL preference so that when, say, the Spotify URL isn’t available it’d go down and pick your 2nd choice, e.g. Apple Music.

Bandcamp support, now that’s an interesting idea. I’m not so sure about Harmony yet (but thanks for the link, I’ve never heard of it!) but maybe there’s a way to look up tracks on Bandcamp by MBID or s/th. I’d rather not go through the MusicBrainz API for that as commercial use is pricey — I’d have to sell a lot of licenses each month first to make that work, financially.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming!
