Obsidian 1.13 changed how incoming API requests are passed on to plugins such as Actions URI, AFO’s companion plugin. This means that as of today (2026-05-29), Actions URI 1.8.x is returning errors (e.g., “missing vault key”) when AFO’s Shortcuts actions are trying to communicate with your Obsidian install.

I’m working on a fix, and I expect to release Actions URI 1.9 shortly. Once the fix is confirmed, you’ll need to update the plugin in Obsidian, and things will work again.

Update: Actions URI v1.9.0 is live: 🚀 Release: Actions URI 1.9.0

In your Obsidian Settings window, go to Community Plugins, trigger the check for updates, then click “Update” in Action URI’s row.
