Take the currret web page and save it to the desktop?

One thing I like to do is to automate to copy a webloc shortcut of the current webpage to the desktop for easy reference.
At the moment I use a Keyboard Maestro macro to do the job but as this actually involves creating the webloc file manually and then saving it out it sometimes has issues.
Would this be possible with Browser Actions? I’d actually use Shortery to trigger the shortcut via a keypress… Any thoghts appreciated.

Good morning, @dbrewood – first up, welcome to the forum!

The short answer is that it’s not possible (yet?) with BA. It might be in the future, I’d need to take a look at it. I’ve just put added a ticket for that to my todo list.

You could use BA to gather info about the active tab, use that data to define the XML in a built-in Text action, then create a .webloc file by saving the Text’s result. I guess that’s what you currently do with KM.

Yep it is indeed, and as that is working 99% of the time I’ll stick with it for the moment.
If it can ever be achieved via BA I’ll switch though as licensing is somewhat cheaper
