Starting in 2026, Actions For Obsidian will require macOS 15+ and iOS 18+, respectively.
I didn’t make this change lightly.
The app contains a lot of workarounds for these old macOS/iOS versions, and every new feature added adds to that. The languages the app is written in and the frameworks that Apple is providing have changed over the years, and making stuff work reliably across eight different operating systems[1] has become quite a handful.
Given that by now less than 2% of customers use AFO on macOS 13+14 and iOS 16+17, the cost/benefit ratio has reached a tipping point for me, unfortunately.
Your current AFO version doesn’t go away
If you’re on macOS 13/14 or iOS 16/17, the last AFO version available for your OS will continue to work indefinitely, of course, but you won’t be able to install any updates.
To receive future updates, please upgrade to a newer version of macOS and/or iOS when convenient.
If you have questions about this topic, just let me know, please.
